Bay Street buildings finish the transition from newsroom to condos

[3/8/2008] - For decades, the building at the corner of West Bay and Whitaker streets was home to this newspaper.
The interior was a warren, and the building bustled with activity at all hours.
And now the building is poised for use again as the News Place on Ellis Square. We'll see ground-floor commercial within months, and condominiums on the upper stories could begin to be occupied by June, according to Cathy Dunn of Ivy Partners.
